The latest scheduled check of the Agenda for Change mileage rates has confirmed that they are to remain unchanged.
The national collective agreement requires that rates are checked in May and November each year. The November check looks at the price of fuel in the previous 12 months.
Over this period the price of fuel has been relatively stable. Consequently, small changes in fuel prices since the last check have had an impact of less than one per cent on the standard mileage rate.
The parties have agreed that rates will change if the impact of price changes on the standard mileage rate is five per cent or greater. As the impact this time is less than this, there is no change to the current mileage rates in use in the NHS.

The next check of mileage rates will take place in May 2015. Any change to rates which might result would be effective from 1 July 2015.
