Health Education England has published its annual workforce plan.

It sets out the education and training commissions that will receive investment in 2015/16, to meet the needs of the healthcare workforce, and patients.

The plan has been built around thirteen plans developed by local education and training boards (LETBs) across the country, made up of education and service providers, and other stakeholders. It reflects local priorities, as well as those conveyed in the NHS 5 year forward view, published in October by NHS England, and it signifies increased investment in areas of need, such as nursing, para and emergency medicine, and primary care.
