Professional Standards Authority Register - update

19 / 1 / 2015 12.13pm

The Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) has been awarded accreditation on the Professional Standards Authority's (PSA) Accredited Registers Programme.

This is the first accredited register for the Healthcare Science workforce and means that all practitioners in the fields of life sciences, physiological sciences, bio-informatics, physical sciences and clinical engineering, that are registered with the Academy, can now display the accreditation quality mark issued by the PSA.

Employers can now be confident that they are recruiting competent and trustworthy practitioners from this register.

The quality mark is a sign that practitioners belong to a register which meets the PSA's high standards in relation to governance arrangements, standard setting, education and training, management of their register, complaints handling and information - giving greater assurance to the public and employers.

The PSA's Accredited Registers programme, established in 2012, covers a wide range of health and social care practitioners covering 17 registers, including 24 occupations.  On our voluntary registers web page there is a full list of organisations currently on the Accredited Registers Programme.
