NHS Careers has produced a new resource to help employers provide high quality work experience programmes.
More than Photocopying: Work Experience - a toolkit for the NHS provides guidance on how to recruit the best people, advice on setting work plans and tips on celebrating outcomes.
Employers recognise that harnessing talent and widening participation in the NHS are key to addressing the workforce supply challenges they are facing. Good work experience placements can help young people make the transition from education settings into a professional environment, and investing in the workforce of the future. They can be an effective and affordable way to showcase the diverse range of career opportunities available in the NHS to talented young people.
Download the toolkit and find out more on the work experience web pages.
Coming soon from NHS Employers
NHS Employers is beginning a programme of work to support employers to recruit more 16-24 year olds into support roles in the NHS. More information on this work will be available soon. In the meantime, find out more about Widening Participation and Talent for Care, the strategic frameworks driving this work. We also have a wealth of guidance on recruiting young people into the NHS.
NHS Careers is currently reviewing their suite of careers guidance and literature, with a view to redeveloping the design and content of their website. If you would like to have your say and contribute to this review, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
