The Department of Health (DH) has announced the funding for assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE) in adult services for this financial year.
The funding is provided to employers of social workers, to sustain ASYE programme activity and includes:
- support and training for supervisors
- assessors of newly qualified staff.
There are around 1,800 social workers in the NHS who predominantly work with adults, children and families outside of health care settings. Increasingly they can be found working in the NHS either employed directly or seconded from local authorities.
Disbursement of the ASYE funding will be done by Skills for Care, as it was last year. Eligible employers will need to submit pre-registration applications to Skills for Care by 10 July 2015 in order to access it.
