The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) is conducting a review of Tier 2 of the Points Based Immigration System with a view to making recommendations about reducing migration to the UK.
The review is split into two parts:
- Early advice on Tier 2 salary thresholds by 21 July 2015.
- A wider review of the Tier 2 routes by mid-December 2015.
The MAC is now seeking views and evidence to help inform their response to part one of the review, which looks at setting new minimum salary thresholds for Tier 2. At present, all Tier 2 (General) migrants must be employed in a job that pays a salary of £20,800 or more.
The documentation on the review of salary thresholds is available on the MAC website.
You have until Friday 3 July 2015 to submit your views to the MAC directly, alternatively, we will be formally responding on behalf of employers in the NHS and welcome your views to inform our response. Please email email@example.com with your feedback by Tuesday 30 June 2015.
We are expecting a second call for evidence, relating to the wider review of Tier 2, to be published around early July 2015. We will keep employers informed as the review progresses and will keep you updated through our weekly NHS Workforce Bulletin.
