The Nuffield Trust is to explore opportunities for new ways of working that could impact on some of the current employment challenges faced by NHS organisations.
Through funding from NHS Employers, the trust will work closely with key stakeholders including the Department of Health, Health Education England and Skills for Health, to examine how these new ways of working could answer challenges around retaining and recruiting staff, and staff shortages.
A report of the Nuffield Trust’s findings is expected in February 2016. The study will highlight current areas of best practice and provide practical advice, as well as identifying a number of workforce hot spots where new methods of deploying staff or mixing skills could be particularly beneficial.
