Total Reward Statements (TRS) will be coming to your organisation soon. Find out what you need to know and how you can prepare.

TRS 2015 rollout

TRS 2015 will be delivered in two tranches, tranche one on 31 August 2015 and tranche two on 31 October 2015.

You can find out which tranche your organisation is in, and access the to-do list and a communication pack for employers, on the TRS information website.

Upload your local benefits information by 31 July 2015

You can add information to the local benefits page to showcase the positive benefits to staff of working for your organisation.

As employers using ESR self-service, you have until 31 July 2015 to update your local benefits page to promote the full range of benefits offered locally using your own branding.

We have developed an employer checklist to help you to prepare your local benefits page . The checklist is available on our case studies and resources web page

How will staff access their TRS?

Staff will receive a payslip leaflet to inform them that their TRS is available to view.

NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) have produced information for staff on the Employee section of the NHSBSA TRS Information website. This includes:

  • how they can access their statement
  • what kind of statement they will receive
  • the content of the statement.

What is TRS?

TRS were introduced in the NHS during 2014 by NHSBSA in partnership with the NHS Electronic Staff Record Programme to support staff retention and motivation, by providing NHS staff with details on the overall value of their employment package. TRS are designed to help improve communications with employees, help them understand their complete benefits package and highlight the value of their employer and NHS Pension benefits in one place.

Don’t forget regardless of which tranche your organisation is in, you must upload local benefits and local branding information to the TRS website by 31 July 2015. Look out for our updating your local benefits page employer checklist which will be published on our TRS web page soon.
