Engaging with medical directors - event round up

10 / 8 / 2015 9.49am

During July 2015, in partnership with law firm Capsticks, we held three successful events for medical directors to discuss the evolving medical workforce agenda.

The event slide pack provides a useful insight into the consultant and junior doctors’ pay and contract reforms, and legal updates on the duty of candour.

You can also read about the Doctors’ and Dentists’ Review Body (DDRB) recommendations and observations in our DDRB summary.

Medical workforce forum - your chance to get involved
We are currently seeking two medical directors and two directors of medical education to join our medical workforce forum, a subgroup of NHS Employers' policy board.

The forum is made up of medical directors, HR directors, medical staffing managers and stakeholders including deans, Heath Education England and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.

It meets on a quarterly basis in central London to discuss issues around medical education and training, pay, terms and conditions and contract reform, professional standards issues, and workforce planning.

Send expressions of interest or requests for further information to medicalworkforce@nhsemployers.org

Medical director workforce update
You can still read the latest Medical Directors' Workforce Update - June 2015 which covers the contract reforms, reflections on the SAS doctor development workshops and further information on the job planning process.

If you have any comments or ideas on what topics should be included in future updates, please contact  the team at: medicalworkforce@nhsemployers.org  Or why not fill in our short survey on the topics included in the update?
