Health Education England launches new frameworks

Nurse on ward

A new framework to support the transformation of nursing roles and another to promote a consistent approach to dementia training have been launched by Health Education England.

The nursing frameworks help to standardise roles and provide a pathway to plan and develop careers. The dementia training framework promotes a consistent approach to the training and education of staff working with people with dementia.

District and general practice nursing framework

This framework sets out the core competencies and skills needed for the change from acute to primary and community care. It also outlines the requirements to work and advance within both disciplines and provides practitioners with a career pathway.

Dementia core skills education and training framework

For people who work with or support people with dementia, this framework highlights the skills and knowledge needed and it will help organisations to:

  • standardise dementia education and training
  • ensure key learning outcomes are delivered
  • improve the quality and consistency of education and training provision.
Join WeNurses at 8pm on Tuesday 3 November as they host a tweetchat to discuss implementation of the frameworks.
