The flu fighter reward initiative continued throughout September with the aim to find the best flu communications team.
We are pleased to announce the winners as East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT) and Powys Teaching Health Board (PowysTHB), who will receive limited edition flu fighter badges.
ELHT employs 7,000 staff to provide a full range of acute hospital and adult community services to the people of East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen. They were chosen as winners due to their consistent use of strong communication channels and use of key flu fighter messages, dedicated flu days and pop-up stalls at all team meetings to create a successful campaign.
PowysTHB cares for the health and wellbeing needs of people that live across a quarter of the area of Wales. Staff are widely dispersed over this rural location so making full use of all methods of communication is a key part to a successful campaign. Through carrying out a detailed evaluation in previous years, they were able to create a targeted communications campaign that effectively engages and connects with their workforce.
We received a high number of entries for September, so a special mention also goes to the following trusts:
• Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
• North Somerset Community Partnership
• Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust
• St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
• University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust
If you’d like to be in with a chance to win October’s reward on accessibility, then tell flu fighter in no more than 100 words how your campaign is available to all staff.
