Flu fighter champion award winner, Stuart Young of Sandwell and Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, has written a day in the life of blog to give an idea of what a flu fighter faces during a campaign.

Stuart’s blog is the most recent in our series of case studies that showcases the use of good practice in establishing and maintaining a successful flu fighter campaign.

The result of Stuart's campaign led to him being personally responsible for 1,139 staff members becoming further educated on flu and being influenced in to getting their vaccination, as well as Sandwell achieving an 81.2 per cent uptake. Read Stuart’s full blog.

The flu fighter champion award is given every year to recognise and celebrate the commitment of an individual who has gone above and beyond what is expected in order to promote the flu vaccination to staff.

Stuart was awarded the flu fighter champion in 2014/15 because of his unrelenting hard work and near constant campaign to communicate the flu fighter message through face to face visits, twitter feeds and pop up mini clinics.
