Discover the benefits of developing flexible recruitment processes in a new case study from Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.

The trust has taken a number of steps to create a supportive, well-structured process for potential new health care assistants, including:

  • talking to young people about the HCA role before leaving college to encourage them to apply
  • drawing support from the wards to recruit the right people for the roles
  • regular contact from HR and line manager after appointment
  • offering a taster session to new recruits after appointment and before their first day in the role.
