Strong start for flu vaccination uptake in Wales

Statistics released from Public Health Wales show a positive start to the flu season in Wales with 32.9  per cent of staff with direct patient contact having had their seasonal flu vaccination.

This is an improvement on last year's figure, which showed that 31.8 per cent of staff with direct patient care had been vaccinated during the same period.

Top performers

The top three performing health boards and trusts (figures show percentage of staff with direct patient contact immunised):

  • Public Health Wales NHS Trust, 49.0 per cent
  • Abertawe Bro Morgannwg UHB, 48.1 per cent
  • Velindre NHS Trust, 44.1 per cent

Cumulative uptake figures for frontline healthcare worker flu vaccinations are published monthly by Public Health Wales.
