Have you submitted your evidence for the nursing shortage review?

03 / 12 / 2015 Midnight

The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) is continuing to gather evidence for their partial review of the shortage occupation list, to assess whether there is a national shortage of nurses.

Thank you to employers who completed our recent survey and shared their nursing workforce data with us about the supply and demand of qualified nurses.

We are now analysing this information and will use it to build a robust submission to MAC, on behalf of employers in the NHS. We would urge employers to also submit their own evidence of nursing shortages at a local level directly to the MAC. There is a risk that the interim measure to include nursing on the shortage occupation list will be revoked if we cannot robustly demonstrate nursing shortages are on the scale that we know exists.

All responses must be with MAC by the 31 December 2015. You can send this directly to mac@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
