The latest set of flu vaccination uptake figures for the 2015/16 season have been released by Public Health England.

The vaccination of healthcare workers against flu is a key part of the public health flu campaign. The vaccination is the best protection we have against flu. From 1 September 2015 to 31 December 2015, 47.6 per cent of eligible healthcare workers in the NHS in England have been vaccinated, this equates 450,511 people.

Trusts in England are working hard to get staff vaccinated and there is a lot of activity promoting the flu vaccination to staff as part of their flu fighter campaigns. The flu fighter team is continuing to work with trusts on their campaigns.
