The ageing workforce: what is the existing practice in NHS organisations?

NHS Working longer review

27 / 1 / 2016 Midnight

The Working Longer team at NHS Employers has published a blog on the recent research project they undertook on behalf of the NHS Working Longer Group (WLG).

The NHS Working Longer Group (WLG) established a number of task and finish groups to take forward specific pieces of work. One of these pieces of work was to undertake national research, to gather intelligence from within the NHS, around how an ageing workforce, and issues of working longer, may affect organisations.

Last year, the Working Longer team at NHS Employers visited eleven NHS organisations across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to gather this intelligence.  In the deep dive blog, the team explains the findings of these visits, some of which will now inform future work of the WLG.

You can find out more about the WLG on our web pages.
