The Thames Valley and Wessex Leadership Academy announced the winner of its Leader of Inclusivity of the Year award as Pamela Permalloo-Bass - Salisbury District Hospital's head of equality and diversity.
The award recognises how outstanding leadership has impacted the way that equality and diversity techniques have influenced services in local communities. It also reflects the active promotion of equality within the workplace and the involvement and engagement of NHS staff.
Paul Deemer, head of diversity and inclusion, NHS Employers, and on the
judging panel commented: "There was a great mix of applicants to the awards. I'd like to congratulations everybody involved from NHS Employers on the great examples of equality and diversity in practice."
In presenting Pamela with her award the panel said of her: “Pamela has the responsibilities for equality and diversity issues, advising and supporting staff and liaising with external agencies and organisations. She acts as a coach and mentor and pioneers equality issues in everything she does.”
