The WLG has worked with NHS Pensions to produce this information pack for HR teams. The pack is designed to help HR teams improve their knowledge of the NHS Pension Scheme and its provisions, from a strategic workforce planning perspective.
Easy to download and share with colleagues, the information pack can be used as a reference point or as a training and induction resource for HR team members.
The NHS workforce is ageing. Over 70 per cent of the current NHS workforce will not be able to access their full pension benefits until they are in their mid to late 60s, and some will have a pension age of 68. The Working Longer Group (WLG) has identified that a good understanding of the NHS Pension Scheme can be an effective way of enabling and encouraging staff to stay in work longer.
