10 / 3 / 2016 Midnight
In support of International Women's Day (IWD), a global day to celebrate the social, economic, political and cultural achievements of women, we are releasing a new blog every day this week.
All around the world, celebrations will be taking place to mark this important date in the calendar, which started in 1911. We have asked a number of our leading female and male leaders within the NHS, and external partners, to blog about what IWD means to them.
The theme of this year's IWD is pledge for parity, which encourages men and women to take concrete steps to help achieve gender parity. That could be to:
- help women and girls achieve their ambitions
- call for gender-balanced leadership
- respect and value different
- develop more inclusive and flexible cultures
- root out workplace bias.
