Wrightlington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) has commissioned the development of a staff engagement tool called Go Engage.

The survey tool is based on the National Staff Survey questions which sit alongside a number of exploratory questions. These are sent to staff every quarter to assess morale and engagement. Some of the themes covered are:

  • working relationships
  • recognition
  • resources
  • personal development.
The tool provides the trust with real time information on a regular basis and because of the regular cycle of listening, analysing and responding, the trust has improved staff and patient satisfaction scores.

To develop the resource the trust ran a variety of staff engagement listening events to gather information on what their issues and challenges were. The team also gained full backing from the board and staff worked in partnership throughout.

Download the WWL case study to learn more about the tool and its uses, how the trust communicates with staff and the great results it is achieving.

The organisation is sharing the Go Engage tool with others and would welcome trusts to get in touch to join the collaboration.
