The Health Secretary has agreed to pause the introduction of the new junior doctors’ contract for five days should the British Medical Association Junior Doctors Committee (JDC) agree to return to talks.

The offer to pause the introduction of the new contract is on the provision that the BMA JDC agrees to discuss the outstanding contractual issues of unsociable working hours and Saturday pay.
