NHS Jobs is updating its system to improve the information captured on application forms. This information will include data relating to ‘fitness to practise’, as outlined within the NHS Employment Check Standards.

‘Fitness to practise’ ensures that all health and care professionals are able to practice safely and efficiently in a way that protects the public and promotes confidence in the profession and regulatory process.

Updates to the process will help speed up the recruitment process by helping applicants to share all the relevant information about their career history as fully as possible.

Employers should note that the NHS Jobs website will not be available between 0500 and 0700 on June 14, 2016 while they make the necessary amendments to the system.

Further information

Guidance on these changes for employers and jobseekers is available on the NHS Jobs website.

Employers can also find information on criminal record checks, alongside guidance on the process of seeking a self declaration on our employment checks web pages.
