Flu pandemic payments

The NHS Employers and the GPC have reached agreement on the maintenance of GMS practice resources in the event of an influenza pandemic. This page outlines the agreement and supporting documents.

The agreement ensures that should GP practices respond to a pandemic emergency, they would not be disadvantaged if some or all routine GMS work is suspended. Their NHS income would be protected in line with the previous year's earnings and any pre-agreed uplift.

In addition to agreeing GMS practice payments, NHS Employers is also working with the Department of Health on guidance on the broader HR issues for all NHS organisations from an outbreak of pandemic flu.
