The e-KSF

 

The e-KSF is an easy-to-use online tool that is available throughout the NHS. It is linked to the Electronic Staff Record (ESR), and is designed to help employers implement and manage the entire Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) process.

e-KSF helps with the collection and submission of monitoring information, including, workforce information graphs, which help managers answer questions such as:

  • How many of members of staff have had a KSF review and PDP?
  • Does the knowledge and skill mix of our workforce reflect our organisational strategy?
  • What are our biggest competence strengths and gaps and how are we planning to fill the gaps?

e-KSF also holds the National Library of post outlines, which is a database of real examples of outlines that can be downloaded and adapted by users to reflect their own posts
