The Department of Health (DH) announced the 'Healthcare Professionals Alert Notices Directions 2006' on 2 November 2006. This is a revised directive for issuing alert notices for healthcare professionals in England, which replaces Health Service Circular 2002/011. This directive is mandatory and should be implemented by all NHS bodies from 6 December 2006. NHS Employers is providing supplementary support and advice for employers on the revised system.
