Working with undergraduates

As part of our work with young people, NHS Careers has developed a new website to support students in their choices about future employment and to encourage them to consider the NHS as an employer.

www.whatcanIdowithmydegree.nhs.uk targets undergraduates who are studying both clinical and non-clinical courses in England and aims to raise awareness of the breadth of career opportunities available in the NHS.

Students can learn about potential career opportunities available to them based on their degree course and hear from real-life graduates who work in the NHS about how they took the first steps to finding their job and what a typical day in the NHS is really like. There is also a live feed from the NHS Jobs website which allows students to view current job vacancies and sign up for job alerts. Other features include practical tips from trusts on how to apply for jobs in the NHS and a jargon buster to better prepare students for the world of work.
