The NHS employs a vast range of staff who have differing accommodation needs. Offering staff a service that provides them with access to a range of accommodation can act as a real recruitment and retention tool, particularly for those trusts who struggle to recruit staff due to high living costs or shortage of suitable accommodation. Managed by NHS Employers, the NHS Housing website acts as a gateway to local NHS trust websites that offer accommodation information pages. Staff who are looking for assistance with accommodation can search by geographical area or trust to view help available to them via their employer. NHS staff may also be eligible for the Key Worker Living scheme, a government-run scheme which assists key workers to buy a home, upgrade to a family home or rent a home at an affordable price. For further information on the scheme, please visit the Communities and Local Government website. Last reviewed 18 Jul 2008 |
