The Occupational Health Smart Card (OHSC) system has recently been upgraded to comply with latest Government IT security requirements. As a consequence all OHSC card holders need to present their OHSC card to their local OH or HR Department for updating as soon as possible. The system will be live from 9 June 2008, and cards which have not been presented for updating by 31 October 2008 will be invalidated. Doctors will be asked via their payslip to access information on the TSSI and NHS Employers websites, which will tell them how to update their cards. Updates will be applied automatically when the card is inserted into the OHSC reader All new requests for OH Smart Cards should be made using the revised OHSC application form available from www.ohsc-uk.com. It includes a fair collection notice for future users. Information and help using the system can be found in the help function on the OHSC system. Operators should refer to this or phone the TSSI help desk on 08450 707898. Information for doctors, the revised application forms and other information regarding the OHSC system can be downloaded from NHS Employers' website. It is also available on TSSI Systems Ltd's websites at www.ohsc-uk.com or by calling the TSSI OHSC helpdesk on 08450 707898. These documents are also available from TSSI's website at www.ohsc-uk.com, along with other information on OHSC including training and application forms. Last reviewed 9 Jun 2008 |
