Refugee healthcare professionals

NHS Employers is leading two projects to support refugee health professionals into employment in the NHS and to enable employers to recruit them. Records show that there at least 1500 refugee health professionals in England at varying stages of readiness for work and employment.

The ARRIVE project aims to increase employment options for refugee doctors through the provision of clinical placements, support for finding alternative careers, a programme of advice and guidance and close engagement with employers to support the provision of placement and employment opportunities. More details about this new initiative will be published here soon.

The Building Bridges project aims to improve the co-ordination and integration of training and guidance services in London to assist refugee healthcare professionals back into employment. Further information can be found below.
