Francis: Information and resources
Building on work it has already started, NHS Employers is working to introduce three initiatives to help organisations support staff in improving and enhancing the delivery of compassionate care. They are: improving wellbeing in the workplace; staff engagement; organisational development and culture change.

How are you feeling today? Emotional wellbeing resources
We have developed an interactive toolkit that encourages conversations about emotional wellbeing and the impact this has on performance, colleagues and patient care. You can access the toolkit, How are you feeling NHS? on our health and wellbeing pages.
Francis: slide pack
A timeline of events from the initial reports of failings at Mid Staffordshire in 2005, through to the publication on 19 November 2013 of the Government's full response to the Francis Inquiry, Hard Truths - the journey to putting patients first. The presentation includes:
- key messages from the inquiry
- the media focus
- a summary of and key quotes from the Hard Truths publication
- template slides to populate with the actions your trust will be taking.
The presentation is a useful resource to support employers when talking to colleagues or teams.
Making progress after Francis

The Francis Report and Beyond: A practical toolkit
Capsticks are acknowledged as legal experts in the health and social care sector and have over 30 years of experience advising public, private, regulatory and voluntary bodies.
NHS Employers has been working closely with Capsticks to offer NHS organisations expert legal advice and HR advisory services through a series of workshops covering pay progression and appraisals, whistleblowing and using the agenda for change pay flexibilities.
