Celebrating diversity in the NHS

04 / 3 / 2016 Midnight

Each month, we celebrate a different protected strand of equality and diversity.

The strands are age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, maternity and pregnancy, race, religion or belief, and sex or sexual orientation. We aim to share the good practice that is happening in many parts of the NHS, as well as in other parts of the public sector and private industry.

We highlight key facts, figures and information as well as signposting you to other useful sources of information.

NHS organisations can use the information on the diversity calendar months to underpin their local work, for example:

  •  sending it out to local staff support networks or community groups
  •  publishing it on their external website and intranet
  •  placing articles in newsletters and other appropriate communication channels to raise awareness among staff.

Below is a list of the topics we will be covering each month. Click on the relevant topic for further info.
