Resources to help you implement the Care Certificate

Question mark key

In addition to support from NHS Employers, several other organisations have developed guidance and tools to help you effectively implement the Care Certificate. Here are a few of them:

Electronic Staff Record

The NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR) has a range of tools and functions which enable employers to enter, store and analyse historical and current information about their workforce.  Many employers are considering it to be a viable option for storing records about the Care Certificate attainment. Access the ESR website for some practical suggestions about how to manage this process.

National Skills Academy for Health

The National Skills Academy for Health (NSAH) was launched in 2013. It aims to help employers make the most of their support workforce, by providing consistent training and development opportunities, and driving up standards. The NSAH has developed a range of resources and services to support you to introduce the  Care Certificate. Find out how to access these here.

National Numeracy

Reflecting a national trend, employers tell us that numeracy skills are a particular challenge for many healthcare support workers. National Numeracy is an organisation working across the UK to support adults to improve their numeracy skills. Find out how they can support learners undertaking the Care Certificate here.
