An introduction to delivering information prescriptions, is an e-learning module specifically designed to support health and social care staff to develop the skills and competencies required for assessing information needs and prescribing appropriate information.
The time taken to complete the programme will vary from learner to learner but will typically take approximately 90 minutes. It is possible to complete the course in shorter chunks of time and save your progress.
This self contained module is free to use and is available from the National Skills Academy for Health website.
We have also developed a free self-assessment tool to support organisations with the implementation of information prescriptions.
It will help you to review the way you provide information, and lead to open discussion with service users and carers about what they find helpful and how they prefer to access information.
It will highlight the areas you need to consider in terms of your organisational ability and capacity to deliver information prescriptions and help you to form an action plan to advance your organisational strategy. This tool has been designed as an aid to your own internal development as an organisation, and you will not be inspected or expected to share your findings with any external agencies.
