General practice extraction service

The General Practice Extraction Service (GPES) is a primary care data collection service managed by NHS Digital (formerly the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC)). GPES collects information from general practice IT systems for a range of purposes.

From April 2013, GPES formed part of the process to provide payments to general practice and clinical commissioning groups (CCGs). GPES collects data from practice clinical systems and feeds this data to the Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS). CQRS is the system responsible for making payments to practices.

For more details relating to GPES, please see the NHS Digital website.

Calculating Quality Reporting Service

CQRS is the system used to calculate payments to general practice for the QOF and other primary care payments ie enhanced services. In April 2014 CQRS replaced the Quality Management and Analysis System (QMAS), the system used to calculate payments to general practice for QOF.

CQRS calculates payments for practices across England. It is capable of calculating achievement and payments on quality services delivered by practices, including the QOF, nationally-commissioned enhanced services and services commissioned locally from practices that go beyond the scope of the GP contract.

For more details relating to GPES, please see the NHS Digital website.
