What is share and learn?

Healthcare science share and learn provides employers and lead scientists with a quarterly forum to share local issues and discuss challenges and solutions in an open, informal environment.

Led by NHS Employers, we give you scope to inform the agenda and shape the forum, ensuring maximum value for the healthcare science community.

The role of NHS Employers

We work with Health Education England to help employers implement aspects of Modernising Scientific Careers (MSC), which has for some time been changing and improving the education and training of the healthcare science workforce.

Share and learn meetings help us to find out what's important to you and respond by developing targeted tools and resources to help employers with workforce challenges as you continue with implementation. This gives us a strong representative employer voice, allowing us to effectively communicate the key themes from discussions to policy makers and other key stakeholders involved in improving healthcare science delivery.

Format of meetings

The meetings are held alternately in the North (Leeds) and in the South (London), approximately each quarter and run from 11am (registration from 10.30am) to 3pm with lunch and networking opportunities. The agenda is driven by current 'hot topics' and includes presentations and discussions from members and external speakers.

Joining the network

We are always looking to expand the membership of the share and learn network to enable us to effectively represent the wider healthcare science workforce.

For those of you who would like to be involved in a virtual sense, via email or telephone, you are welcome to join our wider network. To find out more or to sign up, please email jan.worthy@nhsemployers.org

Presentations

Previous share and learn meetings have welcomed presentations from NHS Employers experts, key stakeholders, early innovators and implementers and delegates sharing their best practice and innovation.
