Stress awareness resources

Team meeting

Stress is believed to account for over 30 per cent of sickness absence in the NHS, costing the service £300-400 million per year. Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure.

People have different ways of reacting to stress, so a situation that feels stressful to one person may be motivating to someone else. Our guidance aims to help managers throughout the NHS reduce stress in the workplace and better support staff who experience it.
