There is a clear link between staff health and wellbeing at work and health and safety. Identifying who in your organisation is responsible for health and safety and working in partnership with them should be a key priority for a health and wellbeing lead. A safe work environment is the start of ensuring that your staff can be safe and well at work.
Good engagement and effective strategies to protect and support the health, safety and wellbeing of staff at work will also benefit patients. It is likely that your work areas will cross in many places and therefore identifying this and working with the health and safety lead will reduce any duplication. If you are responsible for staff health and wellbeing in your organisation and are not already working in partnership with the person responsible for health and wellbeing, take action now and get in touch with them.
The Health and Safety Executive has a wide range of information on health and safety which can be accessed through their website. You can take a look at HSE's dedicated Health and social care services webpages for further information.
