NHS Employers Armed Forces networks

Connect with the Armed Forces team and fellow employers at our various engagement events and networking sessions.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are currently unable to host our usual face-to-face networking events.

To stay connected, we have replaced these events with virtual network sessions so NHS organisations across England can continue to support one another on the journey to becoming forces-friendly employers.

Community connect regional networking sessions

Our community connect networking sessions bring together regional NHS Armed Forces reservist champions and representatives from military units and supporting organisations to share ideas, experiences and good practice. The interactive sessions are guided by the needs of the attending regional network and are a space for attendees to share success stories and discuss the challenges faced when supporting Armed Forces reservists and members of the wider community in the workplace.

Anyone within the NHS is eligible to attend, provided they have an interest in supporting the Armed Forces community. Join our sessions to:

  • share contact details and network with regional Armed Forces representatives
  • feedback actions on your Armed Forces agenda
  • share good practice
  • hear updates from our team
  • share calendar dates for local insight days, recruitment events and other relevant meetings.

We strongly encourage our contacts to attend, as information shared in the sessions will help you to improve upon the support you offer your reservist and Armed Forces community employees and build your reputation as a forces-friendly employer.

Step into Health employer engagement surgeries

Join our employer engagement surgeries on the first Tuesday of each month to check in with the Step into Health campaign team and connect with other organisations which are pledged to the programme.

Each session will address a specific aspect of the Step into Health programme. The theme of each session will be decided by employers and will cover relevant topics such as connecting with Armed Forces organisations, work placements, delivering insight days and Step into Health in an ICS environment.

We aim to encourage open conversation between organisations across England and welcome all who are pledged to the programme to network and share experience, successes and challenges when delivering Step into Health.

Sessions will be chaired by the Step into Health team and will be run on the first Tuesday of every month on via Microsoft Teams and will last for 60 minutes.
