Brexit episode five

28 / 03 / 2018

In the fifth in our series of Brexit podcasts, Sarah Collen, Senior Policy Manager at the NHS European Office, explores the implications Brexit may have on medical research.

Highlighting the Brexit Health Alliance’s most recent campaign on patient access to medical research, Sarah interviews Nick Meade from Genetic Alliance UK, Dr Nick Sireau, a father involved in European clinical trials to find a cure for Alkaptonuria (a rare disease from which his two children suffer), and Stuart Pritchard from the Wellcome Trust. They investigate the UK’s involvement in the EU’s research and innovation programmes, and key issues for research in terms of the UK’s future regulatory cooperation with the EU.
