We have produced new guidance for employers, in collaboration with the British Medical Association, on local clinical excellence awards (LCEA) rounds.
The guidance has been produced to assist employers in their preparations and running of LCEAs and includes:
- eligibility
- the application process
- organising the process
- assessment criteria
- scoring applications
- annual investment
- appeals
- changes in circumstance once in receipt of an award
- award review processes.
The guidance accompanies the new schedule which was inserted into the Terms and Conditions - Consultants (England) 2003, which states that trusts must run annual local clinical excellence award rounds from 1 April 2018.
