Developing your local clinical excellence awards process

Our new guide aims to help employers develop their local clinical excellence awards (LCEAs) process.

It sets out the types of local variation that can be agreed with the joint local negotiating committee, as long as the provisions of Schedule 30 of the consultant terms and conditions are adhered to.

The possible variations include the length and value of awards, overspends and underspends, entry requirements, links to personal objectives, scoring and participation.

The guide also outlines the implications of the government's response to the Review Body on Doctors' and Dentists' Remuneration (DDRB) report on LCEAs.
