Apprenticeship pay joint statement

29 / 11 / 2019

The NHS Staff Council has issued a statement on the outcome of the negotiations around apprenticeship pay covering staff employed under the NHS terms and conditions of service (NHS TCS).

During 2018/19, the NHS Staff Council has been undertaking discussions with a view to reaching a collective national agreement to support local employers and trade unions in England in developing apprenticeship pay agreements.

It was not possible to reach agreement due to lack of consensus over what constituted an appropriate rate of pay for apprentices.

Read the statement in full.

You can also download the existing NHS Staff Council apprenticeship guidance, covering how to use annex 21 of the handbook for apprenticeships.
