NHS Employers in partnership with the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (enei), are hosting a webinar to discuss the Gender Recognition Act consultation as well as HR and data issues related to the employment of trans people.
This webinar will briefly outline the main areas for consultation, but then focus on good practice in the area of employing trans people. It will explore how the NHS as an employer of choice, should ensure that its recruitment, appraisal and retention policies and practices along with associated data systems are fit for this purpose.
The content has been developed with the support and guidance from the Gender Identity Research & Education Society (GIRES) and on the day we will have a trans co-presenter from GIRES participating in the webinar.
About the consultation
The Government is currently undertaking a public consultation on updating the Gender Recognition Act 2004. The consultation asks how best government might make the existing process under the Gender Recognition Act a better service for those trans and non-binary people who wish to use it.
