Due to the success of our November and February events, we are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a new round of community connect sessions in May 2021.

What are community connect sessions?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently unable to hold our usual face-to-face regional networking events, and as such, the online community connect sessions are virtually replacing these.

The purpose of these community connect sessions is to bring together NHS Armed Forces reservist champions regionally to share their ideas, thoughts, and good practice with each other. The interactive content of the events will focus on topics and areas of learning led and guided by the needs and interests of each regional network.

Community connect sessions will allow you, as Armed Forces champions, to share your work with others in similar roles. Joining the events will mean you can learn from each other while openly discussing the challenges and rewards you are facing in supporting Armed Forces reservists and the wider community within your workforce.

There will also be updates on the work of the NHS Employers supporting reservists in the workforce programme and from the Step into Health programme. 

How frequent will the community connect sessions be and how long do they last?

Each session will be hosted on Microsoft Teams and last for 90 minutes. We are currently planning to hold these quarterly but will review this depending on the needs of the network and on the ongoing COVID-19 developments. 

Am I able to ask questions during the session?

The sessions will be hosted by the NHS Employers Armed Forces team and each event will take the format of an open discussion with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and raise discussion points.

How do I book my place?

To book your place on the community connect session for your region, please use our online booking form. Details of joining the call will be emailed to you after this.

If you are unable to attend your region-specific session, please email us at armedforces@nhsemployers.org and we can arrange for you to attend an alternative session.
