Community Connect provides a platform for those managing or working with Armed Forces reservists to network, collaborate and hear latest updates from our reservists programme team.

These informal online sessions include themed presentations, guest speakers and plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share good practice.

February session details

The theme for the session was supporting NHS trusts to achieve their Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) awards in 2023.

We heard from:

  • John Thompson, head of safety and IPC lead at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Armed Forces Reserve Major, Royal Army Medical Corps.
  • Gemma Saunders, Armed Forces community staff network chair at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Further information

The presentations explored the range of ways that Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Derbyshire Healthcare support their Armed Forces community, and what they are doing to prepare for ERS silver and gold award submissions.
