The NHS and the Armed Forces have a long-standing relationship which is more evident now than ever as a result of the cooperative work carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our previous conferences celebrated this close working relationship between the two services, highlighting the Armed Forces contribution to continuing NHS services and the vaccination programme, as well as exploring work in the NHS and support available to our Armed Forces community.

This years' conference explored NHS priorities and policy changes linked to developments in the Ministry of Defence, including the new Armed Forces Act and Reserve Forces Review 2030. Delegates heard from individuals with lived experience and learned good practice from some of our top NHS champions and recruiters.

 Key speakers included:

  • the Defence Medical Services, Walking With The Wounded, the Royal Foundation
  • NHS Armed Forces and reservist champions
  • NHS Armed Forces medical reservists
  • members of the Armed Forces community who have successfully transitioned into NHS roles.

Audience

We welcomed NHS directors and managers, Armed Forces and reservist champions, recruiters, HR representatives and all colleagues with a responsibility for widening participation, equality, diversity and inclusion.
