Supporting deaf colleagues in the workplace
Speakers
As part of Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Week 2022 and our work to improve experiences for disabled staff in the workplace (supporting the Workforce Disability Equality Standard), we hosted a webinar in partnership with NHS England and NHS Improvement. The webinar's aims were to:
- raise awareness of the lived experiences and challenges facing deaf staff and those with hearing loss or tinnitus working within the health and social care sector
- share evidence-based research, tips and good practice examples of how to support deaf staff, and those with hearing loss and tinnitus, including patients.
The webinar was open to all, in particular:
- HR professionals
- deaf staff
- disabled staff
- staff network chairs
- equality, diversity and inclusion leads.
