CHS awards 2018

One of the reasons why Horizon Leeds is much more than just an innovative, award-winning conference centre is the team of people working there. Each day, the Horizon Leeds team are working to find new ways to innovate the space, improve facilities and uphold its 100 per cent customer satisfaction rate.

Here’s an introduction to the people who make the conference centre such a success.


Megan MacBrairdy

Horizon Leeds started with Megan. In March 2014, she was recruited to see whether creating a conference centre was a feasible project. She worked with a design team to create the look and feel of the space, collaborated with her mum to come up with the name, and project managed the build right through to completion. Megan is now the general manager and is continuously finding new ways to innovate the space and improve the client experience.

When she has time, you will find Megan either renovating her Victorian terrace or fell walking in the Lake District. Megan hopes to complete all the Wainwrights by the time she is 40.

Natalie Pitts

Natalie is Horizon Leeds logistics supervisor and has been with the company since October 2014. These days you will find her organising the Horizon Leeds team to make sure all the events exceed delegate expectations and that a high level of customer service is maintained. You will also find her setting up conference rooms and co-ordinating day-to-day operations.

When she isn’t in work, you’ll find her decorating her first home and upcycling furniture or socialising with friends.

Tracey Gibson

Tracey is the events reservation officer and can be found at the front desk co-ordinating bookings and sharing Horizon Leeds latest news through twitter. Before the venue opened she was heavily involved in sourcing items for the venue and taking minutes at the planning meetings.

Outside of work, you’ll find Tracey practising her photography skills, moshing at gigs with friends or getting her nails creatively painted to match the Horizon Leeds colours.

Aissa Marfoua

Aissa is Horizon Leeds logistics assistant and has been with the company since November 2015. You will find him in Horizon conducting event risk assessments, organising our conference rooms and setting up IT equipment - If you have any technical questions Aissa is your man!

When Aissa isn’t at Horizon he can be found in Headingly helping a friend run a Moroccan restaurant or practising his chef skills at home to cook his family delicious meals. When he retires he plans to move to Algeria where he has been building his retirement home.

Claudia Tennant

Claudia has been in the organisation since January 2017 and is one of our part-time event services assistants. You will find her smiling in reception as she co-ordinates delegate registrations and smiling when she sets up each of the conference rooms for our client events. In fact there isn’t a time where you won’t catch Claudia smiling!

In her spare time you will find Claudia dreaming of her next long haul holiday or walking her labrador, Charlie.

Adam Perry

Adam started in July 2015 as the AV production manager and can be found co-ordinating the live streaming of events, strategizing over the next podcast recording or training clients on how to use the AV equipment. When he isn’t at work, you will find him at the cinema or trail hiking with his family. The latest challenge he is undertaking is the El Camino De Santiago.

Joe O’Hagan

Joe is our AV senior production officer and has been with the company since December 2015. These days you will find him recording our augmented reality and time lapse videos or filming delegate interviews. Outside of work, Joe can be found cycling around Leeds or playing football with friends. He enjoys going to gigs and on his first shift as a freelancer for ITV, he spilt a cup of tea on Jeremy Kyle.

Marita Bardino

Marita is the communications manager for Horizon Leeds and project manages all the innovative communication campaigns for the conference centre. She can make a mean twice baked cheese soufflé and when she isn’t in the office you will find her socialising with friends or playing with her niece and nephew.

Sam Beckham

Sam has been working as a Senior Marketing Officer for Horizon Leeds since January 2017 and project manages all of Horizon Leeds marketing activities. When she isn’t co-ordinating the conference promotions, you will find her doing HITT sessions at the gym or doing her best Bambi impression as she regularly trips over her own feet.
