Friday 10 March sees the start of Healthcare Science Week 2017, as hospitals up and down the country celebrate science careers and inspire the science workforce of the future.

It's not too late to get involved and feature on our calendar of events.

How to get involved

There are many ways to help your lead scientists and ambassadors make a success of celebrations. You could encourage them to:

  • read the updated Health Careers guide which includes suggested activities, a mythbuster, where to access resources, draft press releases and useful website links
  • display the official HCS Week 2017 poster and NHS Employers' poster in busy areas
  • show a video on healthcare science which describes how it is driving innovation in the NHS
  • set up a stand in your hospital foyer where members of the public can talk to the profession
  • use social media to spread the word and support the twibbon campaign by adding @WeHCScientists to the trust twitter profile
  • find out more in our healthcare science campaign section including helpful toolkits and resources.

The power of social media

Healthcare Science Week activity is also being talked about on twitter. If you promote your local trust activity on social media, make sure you use #hcsweek17, include photographs and show your support by using the twibbon. This way, you will feature in our social media summary at the end of March which will help to inspire organisations for the 2018 celebrations.
